In the 2024 presidential election, 48% of NM-02 voters backed Kamala Harris and 50% Donald Trump — a R+2 margin, the 21st-closest result of any district in the country. That is a 8.0-point shift toward the Republicans from 2020, when the district voted D+6. Gabe Vasquez is one of only 13 House Democrats representing a district Donald Trump carried.
